Macro Made Manageable: How Clinical Social Workers Can Drive Systems Change 1 CEU - Clinical Ethics, Supervision, or Macro Presenter: Monica L. Yeadon, MSW, MBA, CPS, LGSW Social work is more than individual or family intervention--it's also about shaping the systems that impact our clients' lives. This session offers a clear and engaging overview of macro social work: what it is, why it matters, and how clinical practitioners can meaningfully engage in it. We'll explore how macro practice shows up in everyday work--from improving organizational efficiency and leading workplace change, to advocating for equitable policies and influencing community outcomes. Registrants will walk away with practical steps for involvement at every level, whether within their agency, their community, or through broader policy initiatives. This session invites all social workers, especially those rooted in direct practice, to imagine and implement sustainable change beyond the therapy room. Learning Objectives:1. Define macro social work and distinguish it from micro and mezzo levels of practice. 2. Identify multiple avenues through which clinical social workers can engage in macro-level activities, including organizational leadership, systems improvement, and policy advocacy. 3. Analyze how macro interventions can enhance client outcomes and reduce systemic barriers within mental health and social service settings. 4. Develop an individualized plan or next steps for integrating macro perspectives and actions into their own professional practice. About the Presenter: Monica L. Yeadon, MSW, MBA, CPS, LGSW, is the Director of Process Improvement and Communications at Wellness in the Woods, a Minnesota-based nonprofit focused on peer support and community mental health advocacy. With a background in bridging macro systems change and clinical insight, Monica has led statewide initiatives to strengthen access, equity, and collaboration across Minnesota's mental health system. Her work centers on empowering social workers and peer professionals to connect individual practice with organizational and policy-level change. Monica brings both strategic and hands-on experience in systems analysis, program development, and community-driven leadership. *Please check with the regulatory board in the state(s) where you are licensed to ensure this course meets continuing education requirements.
