One License, Many Doors: The Social Work Interstate Compact 1 CEU - Supervision Presenter:Dr. Karen E. Goodenough, PhD, MSW, LGSW
With the Social Work Interstate Compact expected to be operational within the next 6–12 months, now is the time for social workers to begin thinking about whether and how they may want to utilize it in their professional practice. This session will provide a clear and practical overview of the Social Work Compact, including the background of how and why it was developed and the key stakeholders involved in moving it forward. Participants will receive an update on the Compact’s current status across the country, including which states have enacted Compact legislation and the work underway by the Compact Commission to support implementation. The session will also address frequently asked questions about what the Compact could mean for individual social workers, employers, and various areas of practice. Time will be reserved at the end for participant questions and discussion to ensure attendees leave with information most relevant to their practice and licensure needs.
