The voting rights webinar will be a discussion and dialogue on the current state of voting rights in the United States. The discussion, led by two of the country’s foremost experts and advocates on this topic, will touch on the historical context of gaining access to the ballot by African Americans and women. It will also look at the threat to voting rights for Hispanics, college students, and African Americans for the upcoming mid-term elections in 2018 and the presidential election of 2020.

    Learning objectives:

    • The audience will gain knowledge of the history of voter suppression in the United States
    • The audience will become significantly more informed about the fallacy of massive voting fraud that is being claimed by some public officials
    • The audience will be more informed about the importance of advocacy and mobilization to ensure fair access to the ballot for ethnic minorities and college students during the 2018 and 2020 national elections
