Melanie (JaeHee) Chung-Sherman, LCSW-S, LCPAA, PLLC (she, her, hers) is a licensed clinical social worker, licensed child-placing administrator, and TSBSWE-Board approved clinical supervisor through the State of Texas. She is a Certified Theraplay Practitioner. She is the Regional 3 Representative for the NASW-Texas State Board of Directors. She is a senior psychotherapist with the University of Texas at Dallas Student Counseling Center, serving UTD's student population's diverse mental health needs. She also trains and supervises Master-level practicum clinicians and psychology interns. Melanie is also the founder and private practice owner in North Dallas. She specializes in working with transracially adopted client systems. As a Clinical Director of Post Adoption Services for a non-profit counseling center in Dallas, Texas, to train social work and counselor interns in attachment, neurodevelopment, and trauma-informed care through a social justice lens. She has worked in child welfare, medical social work, advocacy, private practice, and research since 1999. Her passion includes lifting the voices of marginalized groups, particularly womxn of color, and integrating theory and practice to address mental health issues impacted by systematic oppression.
