The world feels like it’s crumbling and social workers are being asked to hold it all together.

We’re expected to care for clients, push for systemic change, and somehow still tend to our own well-being. It is overwhelming. 

At NASW-MN, our mission is to support, inspire, and equip social workers and that means doing things differently in these unprecedented times. It’s time for a new kind of gathering.

Join us for the NASW-MN UnConference*

This is not a typical conference.
No panels. No breakout sessions. No PowerPoint fatigue.
Instead, the UnConference offers:

• Tools for radical self-care
• Practices for deep connection and community-building
• Space to reflect on how we dismantle oppression and move toward liberation

Throughout the day, we will explore:

• How do we care for ourselves in a profession built on caring for others?
• How do we build authentic connections, even across differences?
• How do we create real, lasting change?

This is a day to set down your laptop and bring your full self.
Expect keynotes that spark hope, interactive experiences, and moments of real conversation and reflection, including:

A Keynote from Marjorie Grevious: Align Towards Joy 
Liberation includes releasing that which hinders you, and healing from what hurts in order to allow space for a more expansive experience of joy. Learn how rest and ease can help align your mind, body, spirit and social towards a life that you want to live by claiming more of who you are, and not just what you do for others. 

A workshop from Danger Boat Productions: From Ambiguity to Action: Communication Skills for Uncertain Times  
Drawing from their unique improv performance background, this workshop will focus on navigating uncertainty and communication, using improv-based techniques to help participants communicate more clearly, listen more actively, and collaborate with greater confidence.

You will leave feeling supported, recharged, and reconnected.

Leave the laptop. Bring your whole self.

Registration Deadlines and Cancellation/Refund Policies

Registration: Online registration available through 11:59 p.m. CST on Wednesday, October 29th. To ensure timely processing of your registration, please register online. We recommend using a personal e-mail address (not a work or school e-mail address) to prevent filtering/blocking of conference-related communications by your organization's servers. Mail-in and phone registrations will be accepted.

Payment: Credit card payment required at time of online registration. We do not accept American Express. Checks payable to NASW-MN can be mailed to PO Box 92, Backus, MN 56435. Call 651-293-1935 to register and pay by phone. Registration and payment must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29th.
